How to Take Your Art into the Next Dimension with Cricut

How to Take Your Art into the Next Dimension with Cricut
This is a sponsored post, brought to you today by Cricut. It also contains affiliate links. Purchases made after clicking links in this post help support this blog. Thank you!

It started out as a doodle, something small, casually tossed in the margin of your grocery list. But somehow this graphic element took over and before you knew it, it became the decorative element to everything in your world. Unfortunately all those minute details that you added make it virtually impossible to transform it into the third dimension. Not true. If you can print it, you can cut it with the Cricut Explore machine.

Now with the newest feature of the Cricut Explore machine, you can choose your image (either your own or one of 50,000+ in the Cricut Design Lab), flatten the image and then click ‘Go’. Once printed, the Cricut Explore machine works its magic to bring your 2-dimensional idea into the 3rd dimension.

Take a look at this super short instructional video (less than 4 minutes) and see just how easy it can be…

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day #Giveaway {Ends 10/31}#VeryBadDay

ALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY I’ve always enjoyed the story Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, and can’t wait to see this movie in the theater! I began my college career as an Education Major, and even though I did not end up in the classroom, many of my friends did. The preschool and lower grade elementary teachers love using A Guide for Using Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day in the Classroom to do a unit study on this book. It’s an excellent story that helps children learn about Cause & Effect, and I have a Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day Pinterest Board where I’ve pinned some things that may be of interest to you if you homeschool, are a teacher, or even just a parent/grandparent/babysitter of children in this age range.

About The Movie

Disney’s “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” follows the exploits of 11-year-old Alexander (Ed Oxenbould) as he experiences the most terrible and horrible day of his young life—a day that begins with gum stuck in his hair, followed by one calamity after another. But when Alexander tells his upbeat family about the misadventures of his disastrous day, he finds little sympathy and begins to wonder if bad things only happen to him. He soon learns that he’s not alone when his mom (Jennifer Garner), dad (Steve Carell), brother (Dylan Minnette) and sister (Kerris Dorsey) all find themselves living through their own terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Anyone who says there is no such thing as a bad day just hasn’t had one. “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day,” directed by Independent Spirit Award-winner Miguel Arteta (“The Good Girl,” “Cedar Rapids,” “Youth in Revolt”) from a screenplay by Rob Lieber, is a 21 Laps Entertainment/Jim Henson Company production. The film hits theaters nationwide Oct. 10, 2014.

Weekly Wrap Up $20 Paypal #Giveaway {CLOSED}

Decorate for Fall with Sweetworks
Last week we had an issue with one of the kids at a sporting event that required a meeting with the school principal, counselor, resource officer, and principal. Kids are mean, and it’s nice to know that at the first sign of an issue of this magnitude, a full investigation will be promptly launched, and solutions found to resolve things. Incidentally, today is Wear Blue to prevent Bullying Day, so I’d like to encourage everyone to talk to your kids and make sure they are prepared to report any incident of bullying right away. Also, if someone accuses your child of being a bully, don’t immediately say, “Not MY child!” Sometimes things are taken out of context or misunderstood, other times, maybe they are exhibiting behavior you aren’t aware of, when they are at school. Keeping an open mind and working together to resolve issues helps everyone. Adults can also be bullied, not just physically. Stand up for what is right, and set a good example for your kids. One of the kids we’ve had an issue with has parents who exhibit his same behaviors. He learned this at home, and he knows that his parents will immediately try to get those in positions of authority to ignore his actions, they don’t feel he should ever be punished or scolded for his behavior. People are afraid to stand up to them because they are “connected”. I am not. I will not be bullied, and I will not let any of my children bully or be bullied. They know I am not afraid to deal with these issues head on.

I know it’s EARLY for Thanksgiving and Christmas posts, but I have found (and some are invitational opportunities) some great items to share, so there will be a few of those popping up too! With my schedule, if I don’t post things when I think about them, it’s likely they’ll be forgotten, haha! I remind myself daily to enjoy and treasure these busy moments, because it’s flying by, and too soon they’ll be grown up and all the activities will be over. ~For some reason, the links to my Ebay Guides broke in last week’s giveaway roundup, so I left them in this week also~

I’m trying to share deals on items you may need for upcoming holiday events. I found some Halloween Party Ideas and Tiny Prints Promo Codes (some expire Oct 7), but I’d like to know how many people are interested in these, so I’m making the most use of my time in finding relevant deals. I know how busy this season gets, and want to find deals and discounts that help everyone save where possible and stretch budget dollars further! If you see something you like on one of those posts, please let me know in the comments of those posts!

I am approaching 4-0 next year, and this is moving me towards offers to promote things that are helpful to people in this age category, such as incontinence and beauty supplies for the middle age woman. I have offers for FREE SAMPLES to Poise and Depend listed in the giveaway. I hope you’ll request them, use if needed, or donate to your local church, school nurses office, food pantry, etc.!

*If it’s not linked yet, I am working on those posts this morning. Links will be up soon, and included in the giveaway as they are live! Be sure to check back daily to get additional entries!
