Microsoft Surface Pro

Microsoft Surface Pro

My kids are all in Middle School this year, and technology is being integrated into the classrooms more frequently. Some of their classes no longer use physical textbooks, they rely on online books, courses, and websites for curriculum. We are fortunate that we have a “hand me down” computer at home for the three boys to share to do homework, research, and if they have enough time, play games on. We are noticing though that the amount of time they spend on the computer each night is increasing as they get older, and we will soon be at a point where just one “child’s” computer won’t be sufficient. We aren’t quite ready to make the leap in getting them each their own PC or laptop, so we’ve been looking into other options. Since we are on the go so often at sporting events, practices, and other school activities, something they can use on the go has a lot of appeal. We’ve been doing quite a bit of research on this, and have narrowed it down to two choices. The Microsoft Surface Pro is one of those. We really like that they can take it with them when we are on the go, it’s small and compact to fit in their backpack, and it’s lightweight so it won’t weigh them down.

Microsoft Surface ProWe found this great deal of the Microsoft Surface Pro in the Microsoft Store. When we began to do our research, we were thinking about a laptop, but had some reservations about that. We wanted something more portable, but also something that had enough power and memory to be able to handle all of the programs and needs that we anticipate the kids having over the next few years. With the oldest child entering high school next year, we want to plan ahead for his needs. These are a few of our favorite features:

  • 6th Gen Intel Core i5, 256GB SSD, 8GB RAM
  • 12.3-inch PixelSense touchscreen display
  • Surface Pen included
  • Compatible with Surface Dial
  • Surface Pro 4 is ultrathin, fast, and versatile, the perfect balance of portability and power.

Log in to your Surface with enterprise-grade facial recognition technology, giving each member of your family their own secured profile.
