Guest Post: Shary Loves You shares about Tea Tree Oil!

May 14, 2012 by Karen | Filed under Guest Post.

Hello there! I’m Shary and I blog over at Shary Loves You. When Karen offered to have me guest post I was thrilled! I myself am both practical and frugal and I wanted to take the opportunity today to tell you all about one of my favorite products ever.

Tea tree oil is the best thing you can have in your house, ever! I’m not even lying. It has so many uses and is my go-to product for almost anything. I grab mine at Whole Foods for a moderate price, but I’ve been known to go out of my way to a tiny hole-in-the-wall herb shop to grab a bottle in emergency situations.

Tea tree oil should not be consumed, but you can pretty much use it topically for a number of ailments. Here’s just a few things you can use TTO for:

  • Acne
  • Athlete’s foot
  • Dandruff
  • Vaginitis
  • Thrush
  • As an antiseptic for cuts and burns
  • Lice
  • Eczema
  • Yeast infection

In addition, I use a tea tree oil and water mixture in place of Febreeze for my carpet and couches. I also take it with me on laundry day and add a few drops into each load. (TTO is actually amazing at removing weird smells like mildew on towels or man sweat on undershirts.)

I also use tea tree oil deodorant because it helps my pits stay fresh. :)

If you’re into sales, like me, Puritan has a deal going on right now where you can get three bottles of 100% pure Australian essential oil for the price of one. Though I will admit that most other brands are cheaper and you can most likely find it cheaper. And by all means, search your local town or city. There’s lots of little shops that carry essential oils.

Feel free to stop by my blog and let me know how you like tea tree oil. Oh, and if you have any other uses please share!

Thanks, Karen, for having me!
